Every rug is unique; unique in its place of origin, its construction and manufacturing techniques and the materials, fibers and finishes used. Tucson Carpet Cleaning understands the differences in your rugs and the unique care that each rug demands. To make sure that your rug is restored to the best possible condition we follow this unique process:
STEP 1: Pre-Inspection - We pre-inspect your rug for soiling and stains, tears and damage in order to prepare a condition report which tells you what results to expect before we begin.
STEP 2: Dry Soil Removal - Woven rugs, especially hand knotted rugs are designed to hide dry soil. A few years ago, the Eureka company did a study and found that a 9 x 12 could hide 85 pounds of dirt! WOW! We’ve taken the time-tested old world way of vibrating the dirt out of a rug with hand beaters and improved it with today’s modern technology. Tucson Oriental Rug Works is the only firm in the Tucson area to have invested in this custom-made gentle harmonic rug vibrating system. This harmonic vibrating machine acts like an “army of gentle rug beaters” carefully loosening the deep down dirt out of both the front and backing of your rug. This custom made vibrating massager gently removes the dirt from your rug with 40,000 gentle harmonic vibrations per minute”These vibrations remove the dirt, BEFORE the rugs ever are submerged in our washing station. (The picture to the right is a common amount of dry soil we remove)
STEP 3: Pre-Condition - Depending on fiber content and soiling type, the rug will be pre-treated to emulsify the soils.
STEP 4: Pre-Spot & Fringe Preparation - Any potentially difficult spots will be pre-treated with special solutions to increase chances of removal. The fringe is also pre-treated for maximum soil removal.
STEP 5: Shampoo - Most rugs are cleaned with an Oriental Rug Shampoo that is especially designed to get maximum cleaning while protecting sensitive natural fibers.
STEP 6: Rinse or Wash - Depending on the type of rug it will be rinsed with extraction equipment on both sides or washed in a wash pit designed especially for Oriental Rugs.
STEP 7: Speed Dry - Once the soil is rinsed away, the rug is dried flat or hung to dry in a controlled environment drying room.
STEP 8: Finishing - When the rug is dry, it is combed and finished with soft groomers made for specialty rugs
STEP 9: Post Inspection - Our cleaning specialist will give the rug a final inspection and release it for pick up or delivery. If for any reason, we find any aspect of our service has failed this rigorous examination, your rug is sent back through the ENTIRE process again, AT NO EXTRA CHARGE!
Step 10: Pick-up or delivery - Your newly restored rug is now ready for your pick-up or delivery to you. Before accepting payment, however, we insist that our work has to pass YOUR final approval, because the job isn’t complete until you are delighted.
